Meet the Disputed Gang.

Character-Card-Jack.jpg

Archetype: Walker between worlds, reluctant prophet.

Jack is a spiritual fracture. A man who drinks whiskey not to forget, but to remember. Beneath his sharp wit and steady trigger is a soul learning to see the unseen. Each distilled spirit gives him new ways to interact with the spirit world, though he doesn’t fully understand his gifts, nor the weight they carry. Jack is determined not to become his father, but in escaping that shadow, he walks into deeper ones. Haunted yet focused, clever but guarded, he is a man split between realms, slowly waking up to the truth of who, and what, he is.

Character-Card-Carmen.jpg

Archetype: Youth rising with unexpected destiny.

Carmen may pour drinks for a living, but she’s not just behind the bar, she’s behind the game. She plays naïve until it benefits her to be smart. She’s small, underestimated, and exactly where she wants to be. There’s magic in her blood, whether she knows it or not, and fate has her eyes. Carmen isn’t quite in the gang yet, but she’s circling its gravity. Whether she becomes their greatest ally or most unpredictable wild card remains to be seen.

Character-Card-Butch.jpg

Archetype: Silent strength with shadow rage.

Butch doesn't talk much. He doesn't need to. His presence speaks before he ever draws a weapon. A former butcher turned cook, Butch joined Jack’s cause not for riches, but for purpose. Still, the violence he’s seen and done, clings to him. When he snaps, it’s explosive. But when he's still, he commands respect. Butch is fiercely loyal, dangerously efficient, and carries wounds no one sees. His silence hides a storm, and Jack may be the only one who’s ever weathered it and walked away trusted.

Character-Card-Rhett.jpg

Archetype: Comic mask hiding pain and code.

A gambler, womanizer, and professional talker, Rhett is the kind of man you underestimated... once. His jokes mask more than insecurity. They cloak trauma, regret, and an unspoken code of honor. He’s big, scarred, and loyal in strange but unwavering ways. If Rhett's in, he’s in. Fists flying or jokes flying faster. He's followed Jack into madness. Not because he believes in the mission, but because he believes in the man. Deep down, Rhett knows redemption is a long shot, but he bets anyway.

Character-Card-Doc.jpg

Archetype: Knowledge meets danger; transformation by force.

Doc is part healer, part philosopher, part executioner. With a medical bag in one hand and a rifle in the other, he treats illness and violence with equal precision. Educated, well-read, and dangerously insightful, Doc sees patterns others miss. He doesn’t believe in coincidence, only timing. When the gang found him, he had little purpose. Now he’s found one, and maybe a second chance at meaning. Doc may mend wounds, but he also creates transformations, even if they hurt like hell.

Character-Card-Jamison.jpg

Archetype: Master of tools, keeper of fire and secrecy.

Jamison is a walking arsenal disguised as a bartender. Arrogant, brilliant, and brooding, he’s a red-bearded mystery who crafts weapons like a painter does portraits. His past is full of missing pieces... something dark, something hunted. Beneath the ego is a longing to belong, but he’d never admit it. When Jack showed up with Dawn, Jamison didn’t just join, he aligned. Every weapon has a soul, and Jamison listens to them. He is fire made into function.

Character-Card-Bent.jpg

Archetype: Possessed ruler, spirit-blocker.

Before this war between worlds, Charles Bent was already carving the frontier, founding the Bent & St. Vrain Company and building Bent’s Old Fort on the Santa Fe Trail. But power opened a door too wide. A vengeful spirit found him, quietly taking root through nightmares and whispers. Now possessed, Bent stands as a gatekeeper... politically revered, spiritually compromised. The spirit sees Jack as a threat to its illusion of order, twisting Bent’s thoughts and actions. Some say Charles still fights inside, while others say he’s lost.

Character-Card-Faleena.jpg

Archetype: Beauty touched by loss, resisting connection.

Faleena broke Jack’s heart, but not out of cruelty. She’s a saloon girl with secrets, sorrow, and strength. Love scares her more than death. She wanted to believe in Jack, but the past wouldn’t let her. She walks alone by choice, because closeness feels like a threat. Faleena is beauty scarred by truth. A mirror Jack isn’t ready to face, and maybe never will. She's not part of the gang, but her shadow lingers in the fold.

Nearly every page presents thresholds... doorways, shadows, horizon lines, and blurred figures. These symbolize the liminal space between the mortal and the spirit world. Jack, by design, exists in that liminal zone.

the Disputed

a supernatural western saga

Set in the shadowed borderlands of 1840s Republic of Texas, The Disputed follows Jack, a reluctant anti-hero who discovers that certain spirits (especially the distilled kind) grant him access to strange powers and even stranger worlds. As Jack navigates whiskey-fueled visions and a gang of outlaws with secrets of their own, he’s pulled into a spiritual conflict that stretches beyond the mortal plane. Haunted by past regrets and hunted by something far older than man, Jack must uncover what it means to be a Condücerē... one who can walk between worlds and return whole.

Jack must uncover what it means to be a Condücerē.

But this isn’t just fiction. The Disputed is built on real metaphysical threads—alchemical teachings, spirit transmutation, and the unseen anatomy of the soul. The spirits Jack drinks aren't mere vice... they’re mirrors, each one awakening forgotten truths and stirring ancient karmas. This story exists to entertain, yes, but also to invite. Beneath the dust and gunpowder is a living map, pointing back to presence and personal power.
